I grew up on a farm did a fear the cows no. But I knew to careful around cows with calves. Did a fear the bulls and boars some what. It made me very careful when it came time to handle them. But handle them we did.

One learns not to sneak up behind a horse you could get kicked.

When a horse's ears lay back and they exposé their teeth they might be thinking about biting you.

It is no different with wild animals There is normal behavior and there is behavior that causes one to take notice of.

Never seen a rabid racoon, fox or coyote. I have trapped and shot many hundreds for their fur.

That doesn't mean when I see one stumbling around. I will not be careful.

Never been close to a cape buffalo, leopard, African lion or other large critters around the world.

That doesn't mean I do not know they can be dangerous.

Into days world there are plenty of people who's agenda to put animals first people second.

Their battle cry is far more often animals are fuzzy, furry friendly forests, critter's. that never do no wrong.

It is ok if some people get chomped and killed. It is not the animals fault. If only those nasty humans haven't been there.

It is a rare attack.

Their agenda is simple.

To stop hunting

To take away are second amendment rights.

They are far more dangerous.

Then someone who's says animals can be dangerous be careful around them.

There have been reports of and pictures of Lions in Missouri as far back as I can remember. My family moved here in 1975. The Missouri Dept of Conservation has continually denied it. Even to the extend of calling game camera pictures, of what is clearly was a lion, a house cat!

Has become common practice with game department across the country.

When one finds a excuse others follow.

Just like recommend spray over firearms.

They follow each other in lock step.

Again the chance of a attack by a cougar is percentage wise so far down the list something to not worry bout. If some one is going hunting , hiking running biking etc etc percentage wise so many things that could happen to harm them before a cougar attack but yet they will still do it.
There is many radical people in both the anti hunting and hunting world and both have many that have little to no knowledge of the subject they talk bout and put out untruths.
Since I have hounds and follow cats I have to deal with both quit regularly. Hunters spread just as much BS if not more then the antis and I have seen more regulation changes and lost opportunity caused by hunters.

RAised on large ranches and leased large ranches in the high population of Mt. Lion country, trapped and go them in snares and getters. shot them over dogs and with spot light on two occasions had a freezer full of hides at one time..Lions in Texas are predatory and no season last know of in the Big bend area, have no fear of Mt Lions, none what so ever, I think problem Lions and bears have to do with BS and closed seasons for a number of years and that creates aggressive predatory animals. A 12 lb. bobcat is more aggressive than a Lion for some reason, I have never known a cowboy to get et or bit,

Mark do you really believe that you know what the animal was thinking and was going act.

I ran into one lion his tracks indicated he left very fast. lots of bears and lots of wolves. Most of them have been properly respectful and left post haste.

Those that didn't were looking down the barrel of the firearm I was happen to be carrying at the time.

I haven't had to shoot any of them because they left going away from me.

I can find no where that any charges were filed. So far the authorities must think it was justifiable.

I do not believe animal’s life is worth more than a human. But your argument that the lion might have attacked is weak morally and legally.

Do what one must, but do not do what one wants and trip look for justification.

If we opened best season tomorrow in WY a neck country bear coming on your elk kill is mot going to care that 10 or whatever bears were killed during season.

By PDog Shooters rational one may shoot a predator anytime one sees it. I just watched a hunting show. Brown Bear was not on license. A brown gets w/in 200 yards. The party makes their presence known the bear turns away. That is the way it should be. If the bear came, so be it. A gulf between that and see bear and shoot bear.

Likewise, a Montana game warden will tell you one is not permitted to kill a bear just to save your deer/elk kill.

I hope she is not charged. Being a MO mountain lion this should not fall under Fed jurisdiction as w a bear.

Hopefully, a good talking to and life can go on.

Not for nothing but MO winter mt lion season opens Dec 1. Are we sure this mt lion was not shot in season? Found the link on page one. Certainly, appeared out of season.
