Have you scouted the area at all? I think the best bet is going to be with access to some private land. There will be cows in the area in January. Weather should be getting cooler stating Monday, so that should help. ya.
I myself have a couple of cow tags for the Craig area starting the 1st.

My son (13 years) has a cow tag to fill in unit 20, the season opens January 1. Has anybody out there any experience with this area? Hwy. 34 from Loveland to Estes Park runs right through the middle.
