beemanbeme300 savage
I just ordered the remington classic. its in 300 savage this year. after bedding and "tuning" the rifle and overhauling the trigger, what kind of accuracy can I expect from the 300 savage? Anyone have a favorite powder. I'll be shooting 150 gr match bullets of some sort. thx in advance.

WstrnhuntrHey thats awsome! Any pics?
I get sub MOA with my Savage and its not picky about what it gets fed. With 150 and 125 grn bullets I go IMR 4895, but for anything bigger RLR 15 is the one you want.
Your gonna love that chambering, its right on the heels of a 308 with the recoil of a 243(practically non existent). I use 43 grns of RLR 15 behind a 165 grn Hornady for 2620 fs. I also use mine with 125 grn loads as my back up varmint rifle.

TomMy 300 Sav. likes IMR2520 with 180 grain bullets( gives about 2500 fps at max load). I don't use the 150's myself. I agree hat the cartridge has MANY virutes, I LOVE MINE.

Bob257I didn't know that Remington was going to make the caliber available in the Classic until after I had one built on a Howa action. I used a Douglas barrel. Mine shoots under an inch at 100 using 150 grain ballistic tips and H414 powder (48 grains), Fed210M primers and Winchester brass. I shot a nice doe with it this year. She dropped in her tracks.

NickuduWstrnhuntr,
I was operating the camera. When I told them to "Say Cheese", they realized I was from New York.
