I posted pictures in early Nov. of a deer killed by my nephew. Here are pictures of one he killed this afternoon. http://www.taylor.k12.ga.us/~tcss/deer2/deer2.html

I put in a picture of the Nov. deer for contrast. This is the fourth deer killed from the same stand this year. This one was the lightest (175 lbs) of the four. He was all gaunted up from the rut.

That is a mother of a deer! I did not realize they grew them that large in the South?! Weidmannsheil to the fortunate hunter!

What county did he get them in? I used to hunt deer in Upson county down around Thomaston back in my college days.

Nobody should have that kind of luck in one season. I'm truly green with envy. Two magnificent deer from the same stand. You must have some great genetics in that area.

A combination of good genetics, not a whole lot of hunting pressure, and a pretty good hunter. Even when he was a little kid, Will could see deer the rest of us could not. The stand is located on a lease adjacent to our farm, about 300 yards from one of our fields in a pine plantation that was thinned about 8 years ago. Our deer feed on peanuts, grain sorghum, and corn, so nutrition probably plays a part, too. I believe most of the Ga herd in our part of the state came from Wisconsin stock back in the 1950's. Wyo Joe, the deer was killed in Taylor Co., about 40 miles south of Thomaston.

Hey those are both really nice deer. I used to hunt in Taylor County in the early 1980's. The deer heard has come a long way since then!

BTW, have you scored him yet?
