Wy Elk 100
My boys pulled a couple of Cow tags for Wy zone 100. I hear it's an easy hunt but want to make the most of it. Can any members give us an idea where to start?

Unit 100 in Sweetwater County is one of the 3 or 4 biggest elk units in Wyoming with plenty of accessible land to hunt on in the northern and northwestern parts, so they shouldn't have any trouble getting a couple cows if they have a week or so to spend on their hunt moving and glassing. Stay away from the southern half of the unit that is all checkboard land though. IMHO the better area is the rough terrain over in the western/northwestern part of the unit and that's where I would start a hunt.

I killed a cow there a few years back. I spend a fair amount of time in unit 100 as I live nearby.

This is the easiest public land elk hunt anywhere. I would be surprised if your boys don't tag out in a couple of days.

I will PM you my phone number as I can give you some specifics on the areas that will hold elk.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
