Eland SlayerHandgun whitetail...
I was able to get my first whitetail buck ever with a handgun this morning. I actually went out trying for a doe, and this old fella stepped out. He was a perfect management buck. I took him at 25 yards from a pop-up blind using my S&W 629 .44 Mag with 300 gr. Federal Cast-Core ammunition.
I knew from his body (on the hoof) that he was an older buck, and definitely needed to be taken out of the herd. Judging by his teeth, I believe he is either 5.5 or 6.5....difficult to say for sure. I apologize for not having better photos of the teeth, but I didn't have a jaw removal tool with me, and rigor mortis had already taken affect so the jaw was not going to open much. He had quite a bit of wear on his 4th and 5th. What do you guys think?

thecanadianIts hard to say for sure but I think you are correct. To be certain a better picture of the enamel wear would be needed.
