My hunting partner may be dropping out of our planned trip to F this year for deer. I thought maybe I would take my boy with me if he couldn't go. My buddy had a couple areas to look into, but I thought I'd ask if anyone here has thoughts on the region. Never been to F for a hunt.

Not looking for GPS coordinates, just some ideas on areas to look into, with public lands. Not really interested in the Sunlight area, unless it isn't as popular as all the info suggests. PM me if you'd rather.

If your coming in the next few days, come prepared for winter. We got a lot of snow in the Basin the last three days, and low temps forcasted.

Kudu- I noticed the snow and cold. We are thinking of coming up that way either the last 5 days of Oct or in Nov. Do you think the weather will get the deer migrating? Would it be worth bringing horses? We should have all our cattle off our ranch by the time late Oct comes around so we can get away.

PS- Yes I am from Utah, but I do not fit the Utah hunter reputation. haha My 10 year old boy and I know how to hike, shoot, close gates, help with livestock, and don't have to be successful to have a great time in beautiful country.

Utah hunters are a pretty dedicated bunch. I met a Sheriffs deputy while elk hunting, super nice guy, and they were back packed in for elk.

THose general areas can be pretty crowded during the weekends, and not to bad during the week. Horse back would help, but you will be surprised where people will show up on a 4 wheeeler.
