Leica 7x24 CRF 1200 Rangefinder over sage brush?

I like the light weight idea.

I am thinking of ordering one.

Any opinions?

Damn good piece of equipment. I tried many of them, but settled for the CRF 1200. Used in moderate rain with no problems to 300+ yards.

Can you range off the animal itself?

So far, yes. If not, it's pretty easy to range something next to them that is reflective enough to give you a reading.
