Something sounds fishy with her story. My friend and I bagged an 8'11" gator within a few days of her, and about 5 miles from her. We fought it on two fishing lines for almost 3 hours before we got it close enough to harpoon it then fought it on that for another 15 minutes to get it next to the boat, and it only weighed around 250lbs, and she fought a 13+ and 1025lb gator boat side in 2 hours? and had to shoot it 8 times then stab it?
