recoil of .416 Rem versus .416 Rigby
I am considering buying a .416 as my first dangerous game rifle for an upcoming buffalo hunt next year. Is there any difference in the recoil of the Remington versus the Rigby in the .416 caliber? I understand that the chanber pressures are greater in the Remington. If the bullet velocity is the same ,if the bullet is the same, and if the gun is similar in stock design and weight, is the recoil the same?

Thanks.

I suppose it would be fair to say that any theorhetical prediction supporting a touch more felt recoil in the Rigby version would be more than offset by the heavier average rifle weight associated with the Rigby. This is of course assuming similiar bullet weight and muzzle velocites. A stoked up Rigby handload obviously alters everything.
