With buckets of dough, kids can accomplish goals like this in short order. Good for her. She still had to hike there to shoot them.
It took me 22 years and lots of scrimping and scrounging added to copious amounts of shithouse luck in a couple drawings to finally reach the goal. That was 20 years ago and I couldn't financially do it today.
As a relatively budget-conscious man, I remind myself that it's the journey, not the destination. Maybe that's just something we little people say. LOL

eagle27Yes obviously buckets of money helps in many countries of the world, we're fortunate here where hunting is free and we have access to huge tracks of public land to hunt on till our hearts content. Our youngsters can experience hunting from as early an age as they can physically access the hunting areas.
Had a chuckle in regards Cammi taking a grizzly that came into camp with a 712 yard shot, must have been a bloody big camp, wish many of our animals were in camp at such long range

JBrownI have had the good fortune to hunt sheep, so I understand how amazing of an experience it is.
But I wonder, what is of value in a child killing a sheep on a hunt that her parents paid $100k+ for?
She had to hike and hunt all those miles, and make all those shots, but what is the value of a “grand slam” to a thirteen year old?
I have no interest in the grand slam myself, but I can at least see the value that it represents to the average grand slammer: decades of dreaming, saving, research, planning, sacrificing, etc. I just don’t see what is to celebrate about a young kid completing a grand slam.

DIsYou can do anything if you have enough money. I know working men and women that have been applying for sheep and goats in Montana their entire life and never drawn tags. Is that fair that a little girl with rich parents kills 4 sheep? Guess the world isn't fair. I know I would sure like the opportunity to hunt them someday.

LHeym500She still has to climb the mountain, make the stalk, and take the shot. I bet she is very humbled by this experience. We need young people and women hunting species like sheep.
Folks who can do snd will buy tags. The money should go to conservation. It is no different than any us going to Africa. You have to be able to write the check.
I am going to hunt Red Stag in Austria and a diy (guide fell threw) cow elk hunt which is my 3rd.
I am very happy for her. I do not blame or hate others for doing what I wish I could do.

cooperjdCami and Russell hunted with the same outfitter in Alaska for her dall that my Dad and I did. We hunted in '20, they hunted in '19. The guides and outfitter had nothing but good things to say about them.
