Waterproof spotting scope
How important is it to you that your spotter be waterproof?
That 14.5 oz. Kowa that Outdoor Life liked, is looking pretty good otherwise.

The only time you need waterproofing is after it gets wet.
I wouldn't own optics that weren't waterproof. I really like the Nikon XL.
