ramrod340Where can I get a Map update for a Garmin 60CSx
Bought my Garmin in 2003. Have not updated the maps. I use it for Hunting ATVing and sometimes driving. Was putting in some waypoints for my trip to ATV at Sedona next week and found a number of the roads don't exist on my base map.
So I figured time to update. I for the life of me couldn't find an option to do that on the Garmin Site. I have emailed them to ask.
Anyone here using an antique like me and now where to get a map update?

ramrod340Heard back from Garmin. So Sorry maps not available.
Will be happy to sell me a new 64S
I hate to say it but I would seriously entertain up grading to a Garmin that can accommodate a chip. there would be a lot of advantages to doing it. I would then get an OnXmap Elite membership it's 100.00/yr. You get some chips and also lets go online and do a whole lot like pre-planning for anything you would want to do. I have done all of the above and mostly from a hunting standpoint it really really helps! My 2 cents.

Yep mine has a card but small based on todays standards. Heck I'm still using MapSource never changed to Basecamp.
As to the Garmin new maps as it was explained to me they will work with the Model 62 and later. I bought my 60 in 2003 along with detailed road maps. Have the 1:24,000 CO topo. The unit still works fine. However I'm finding more and more roads that aren't on my 60. Since it was my ONLY GPS in 2003 missing roads was and issue since I used it for navigation as well. Since both cars have Navigation and I have a separate portable GPS as well I no longer use the 60 for normal navigation.
However we are going to Sedona and trying to take the maps I received for the area and build tracks for my 60 I found a number of roads missing.
The wife is pushing for a new 64s for Fathers day so the issues might resolve itself.

TCLouisI'm betting that 14 years in the future one will not be able to update information on today's current version also.
Technology will have changed like they have over the last 14 years and they are in business to update information on "current" GPS units.

I new the day was coming. Just had hoped for a couple more years.

Based on other technology I'm surprised it lasted this long. So for the time being I will use it as it. Works great. Just missing some newer roads. If the wife happens to go pick it up a new 64s "On Sale" at Cabbalas for 6/18 I won't complain.
