Large Canadian WhiteTails
Can anyone suggest an area and better yet an outfitter for a Canadian Whitetail Hunt. Looking for an area with large racks. This would definitly not be a meat hunt. Trophy rack or nothing.

You might consider the Biggars Saskatchewan area (central saskatchewan). They had the white Tail record for a while not long ago.

I don't know of any outfitters but you should be able to find them on the sask government pages:

Cabelas Also advertises some white tail trips to Sakatchewan

good luck

Saskabush seems to have more than it's share of big whitetails and muleys.

Sask is a good place to find an above average whitetail. There are a lot of outfitters that produce B&C heads. Be aware that non residents MUST use an outfitter and must hunt in the northern zones. Canadian residents, those from Canada but outside Sask, can hunt in all zones but only for the middle of the usual 3 week season when in the southern zones. Canadian residents and non residents of Canada have a choice of archery ,late Aug to early Nov; muzzleloader, early Sept to early Nov or regular rifle early Nov to early Dec.in the more northerly areas.
Rockhead: I believe the Hanson buck from Biggar, sorry a no no for non residents , is still the record non typical.

Highly reccomend Simoneau Outfitting, Mistatim, Saskatchewan. Tel 306-889-4460. Speak to Gregg Simoneau. Have used Gregg for five years.....fully satisfied. You do have to reserve early...he usually books his alloted tags very quickly with his loyal regulars.

I met Simoneau out in the field in Mistatim quite some time ago. Nice operation, great area for hunting.....

I thought Rompola's deer from michigan was bigger, but I guess it isn't officially measured.
