I am looking into a cow elk hunt with Milligan Brand Outfitters in Chama, NM. Has anyone dealt with them?

Booking a hunt is like buying a used car out of state, sight unseen. The outfitters are all nice guys to talk to, they promise the world but you never know what you're getting into.

Just looking for any kind of feedback.

I have 2 friends who hunted with Milligan's outfit and both had good hunts.

I get their ad mags often. Seems they kill lots of huge elk. but, Look at the price tag for the hunt. NO way I could ever finance an elk hunt with them. some of you more flush guys can.
I think you'd have a great hunt and most likely get a big bull. I do feel the bigger the bull, the bigger the bill will end up though.

I understand he's got a great deal of the private lands tied up. But, that's one of the best elk areas in the country. Use this cow hunt to scout things out and get acquainted with some locals and go back next year for the big bull. Take an extra week so you can look around and meet some locals.
