Wisconsin Tom
I spent about nine hours in the woods yesterday before finally taking my bird. I passed up an easy shot at a jake just after fly-down. I was thinking, "Hey, I'm hunting all day, and I can hunt all day Saturday and even a few hours on Sunday if I have to. I'll hold out for a big one." Well, that was the last turkey I saw or heard from until 2:00 in the afternoon. We have had cool wet weather these last few days, which certainly doesn't help. I did finally call one in, a two-year-old, and got him at about 30 yards.
I didn't get a chance to weigh him, but by the time I got him back to the car I'm pretty sure it was north of fifty pounds.

p dog shooterGood job its been wet and white up here. I was suppose to help a friend hunt his.
Haven't had a chance yet.
Boy, that stinks. We haven't had any snow here for quite a while, but the woods definitely looked a lot more like early April than early May. At least there weren't any mosquitoes!

Colorado BobConglads. Is Wisconsin a single bird state or can you tag 2 in the springs? Colorado is a 1 bird in the spring---tagged out here. I got one opening weekend & called 1 in for my better half on the 2nd weekend.
