gentlemen,
The answer is very very easy [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] Norma of course!
Strange that the American majority here at the forum did't realise that last year...

win supreme 22/250 with 50 gr ballistic silver tip. Shoots so well in my VSSF rem 700 I do not bother handloading for this calibre. My two mates also shoot win supremes in there VSSF 22/250's with the same great results.

I might say Norma.. But thats primarily because Im a scandinavian..
On the other hand, I think factory ammo accuracy will vary a lot from rifle to rifle. You can probably go to the factory and pick out two identical Remington 700s and they might group differently with same loads.. One might like the Federals and the other the RWS..
But that was just a thought [Smile]

Federal 300 Gr. TBBC in my 375 H&H
Sellier & Bellot 55 Gr. in my 22-250
Federal 180 Gr. TBBC in my 300 Win
Remington 180 Gr. Core-Lokt in my wife's 30-06

I reload for most rifles, but I don't shoot these very often. These loads are all sub MOA, so I can buy them off the shelf in a pinch.

I'm more or less with Ander on this. I think it may vary with rifles. That said, I've seen

Hornady
Federal

in my LIMITED experience.

It definetely depends on the rifle:

my .280 - Speer 160gr Nitex
my .375 - Fed. 300gr Safari
my 7Rmag- Fed. 150gr classic

That's why I handload, to tailor the load to the rifle.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that any mainstream factory ammo will shoot extemely well in something. I have a Remington 40x in .308 that will shoot half inch or better with Gold Medal 168 grainers and about an inch or inch and a quarter with el-cheapo Remington UMC. I also have maximum handloads for my .416 Rem that I just laoded one day and shot and lo and behold, they shoot 1/2 inch off the bench! Am I lucky? Well, maybe a bit but the days of mediocre tolerances on rifles and ammo are LOOOONG gone. If you do your part, almost any gun and ammo combination (assuming they are the same calibre [Wink] ) will do the job as far as hunting accuracy goes.

JMHO,

Gentlemen,

I prefer PMP Pro-Amm or Federal. Winchester shoots very well in my 7mm Rem Mag, also.

Whatever shoots most accurately in your particular rifle. I don't think there's any answer to this question in terms of any particular manufacturer.

A few years back I bought some Federal Classic 180 grain in a bonus pak (4 extra rounds in the box) and shot 3-shot groups you could cover with a nickel, I have yet to top that with any of my hand loads!
On the other hand I bought some Hornady "Customs" 180's they had on "Closeout" and you'd have a hard time covering those groups with a catcher's mitt! Go figure! [Confused]
