Didn't catch the original thread, but I have fired stainless barrels in cold weather for years with no troubles, as a matter of fact it's -22 here right now. It was interesting to see Lilja's answer to the question about bore sighters too. I don't see what you really need one for anyway, always seemed like a waste of money to me.
