Great Rifle/Round for....
Would you call a 30-06 with a Nosler 180 gr Nosler Partition a "Perfect" round for Vancouver Island Black bear, Elk, and Free Range Audads.
Look forward to your response.
Thanks in advance,
W.

Absolutely. The WM is overkill.

That caliber and load will serve you extremely well. There is no such thing as "perfect" in the gun/hunting world, but that combo doesn't miss it by much for the species you have listed.

Although I prefer the 200 gr. Nosler and can drive it at the same 2700 FPS with a handload, I think the 180 gr. Nosler at 2700 FPS in the 30-06 is a dandy and I used it for about 40 years with 100% success, until one day I hunted with the 200 gr. Nosler and got the impression it was just more of a good thing...

You BET! That is what I use for elk, goat, and deer, and whatever else gets in the way of the crosshairs. I am getting 2740 fps out of my 24" bbl. and my last goup was less than .75 inch. You don't need a .300 mag, just good familiarity with the gun to hit what you aim at.

My primary elk rifle/cartridge is definitely "over kill" in a 338-378 Wby using 225 grain TSXs. My backup rifle/cartridge however is my trusty '06 using either 180 grain partitions or TSXs. It's a fine, accurate round that is more then up to the task.
