Sleeping under the stars is one of the common factors in some predatory black bear attacks.

This happened less than two miles from my home in an area I have often hunted Elk. I have both an Elk and a Bear tag this year. We need a few less bears locally.

You definitely need one less, anyway.

We have a big male black bear that hangs around in Spring and Fall. I live in the Broadmoor Bluffs area part of Colorado Springs. He stood up and chuffed at my son a few years ago, must've surprised him, otherwise he just eats all the apples off of my tree every year. We have more lions than bears though. They are not a worry at least to me. The bear is a bit more so.
