What is the best time of year to shoot one if you intend on using the robe/hide?

CanadianLeftyDepending on whether or not the barn is heated

, generally anytime from November through February. If I had to pick a month, I'd say January.
If hunting outside of Wood Buffalo, you may want to consider access, hunting method and location of buffalo over the best time to kill for a robe. Mind you, if going in on snowmobile, you're best bet might still be December-January.

ELKMAN2The deeper the snow the more hair rubs and breaks off, Dec, may be the best if snowy.
