Check out my hunting blind

perryCheck out my hunting blind
What do you guys think of our new hunting blind?
Here is its first yield.
96 hogs in two hours. A pastor with a homeless ministry pick up some of the causualties for a total of 1200 pounds of ground meat! The ranchers comment to me was "I guess it would be a pipe dream to think we could kill them all". Can you say hog hating!

Fish30114Well Perry, it looks like a fun blind!
A little pricey, but definitely fun producing.
Good on ya for getting the meat to charity.

perryBelieve it or not it cost less than a regular box blind, way cheaper if you go by yield to cost.

If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

mt AlStinking terrorist guns again!!!
That looks like way too much fun. A friend did some coyote/wolf shooting from a Super Cub in AK, this looks way better.
Thanks for making me jealous.

I'd strongly encourage the "driver" to avoid doing ANY tree limb trimming with the Stand.
I hear some folks think wearing a Hat and Shades "while Hunting" is very unsportsmanlike.

The AR-15 is 223 loaded with 62gr TSXs @2850fps, I did a little review of them in the small bore section. The FN is 308 loaded with grey box Federals in 150gr sp. The FN was used in the helo and I kept my AR on the ground on my four wheeler. Honestly I had fun getting in front of the helo as they were flushing the hogs across the senderos. I would run up ahead of them on the four wheeler and head them off at the pass so to speak. I could tell by the way the pilot was positioning the helo which direction the group was heading. Then I would haul ass to the closest inersection and wait for the party to start, IT WAS AWESOME!!!I got 10 on the ground like that. We really did not use much ammo. I used a mag on the ground for 10 hogs and my buddy killed 50 from the helo with 80 rounds of 308. I bought all the 150gr Feds Sportmans warehouse had and have over 150 rounds left. We'll use that next year and yes your invited Forrest, just bring a semi auto and a sharp knife, plenty of hogs to go around.

perryUnfortunately that is the biggest pile we have pictured. The church guys started at 9:30am and did not finish cleaning and skinning until 5pm. As they pigs piled up guys would bring them back to the cleaning station for processing.
I tell you for ranchers with hog problems it is the most effective way to kill large numbers of hogs quickly and economically. The helo ran about 600.00/2 hours and ammo was under 100.00. All the pork was used for charity so part of the expensens can at least be deducted as a charitable contribution on the ranchers taxes. Win Win WIn situation, unless your a hog!

perryI want to say there was about 7 guys processing. There was supossed to be 15 but 8 backed out day before. They got back to the church that evening and got all 1200#s ground up, that has got to be some sort of land speed record!

joedjrYou mention the Church Guy. I take it the meat is donated to the hungry. Win Win situuation. You hunt and feed the less fortunate. Good job.

olarmy96 hogs, hmmmm, wonder how many bazillion ticks and gazillion fleas that equates to. Startin' to itch just thinking about it!!
God bless Texas!

perryjoedjr,
The pastor was thrilled to get the spoils. He mentioned that protien is huge for the homeless due to their condition. He has put a lot more thought into their plight than I ever did.
Olarmy,
How about them ticks and fleas. One of the teenagers came walking out of the brush with a pig over his shoulders and that was the first thing I thought of, I actually started itching just seeing him.
