Aaron NeilsonEastern Colorado 2010 - Update
Folks - I just thought I would show you some of the bucks we have taken so far in eastern Colorado. We have bow hunts going on right now, and a December rifle hunt with about 6 clients, so hopefully some more big bucks to come. Unfortunately I am STILL waiting on some pictures from some of the clients, but here's at least a few.
So far we have shot 10 whitetails, 7 of them are 170" or better. We've taken 8 muleys, two in the 170's, two in the 180's, two in the 190's and two over 200".
David Morris - Bucks of Tecomate 177" typical
Muzzleloader - 171" typical
Rifle - 178" typical
Rifle - 172" 9pt typical
Rifle - 188" non-typical
Rifle - 200 3/8" non typical
Rifle - 193" non-typical
Rifle 204" non-typical

Chuck NelsonI'd love to see the score sheets on those deer. Must be foolers as some of those scores seem pretty optimistic. Great deer none the less.

I can assure you that these bucks were taped tight.
Here is another pic of the 188" and the 178" whitetails.
Still think somebodys blowing smoke up your ass?
Normally I probably would have gotten defensive and called you an asshole and God knows what else for implying that Aaron was stretching the tape here but when the pictures were texted to me I wasnt that impressed, then I got back to camp and put my hands on them and was blown away. I can assure you that these scores are legit.

daniel745Why does someone always have to question what is posted? I hunted with Aaron and Shawn in 08 and 09 and took a 203" and a 187" with my bow. These guys have the ground, know how to get on these deer, AND know how to score a deer. Mine were scored by 2 different guides in camp and came with 1/2" of each other. Way to go Aaron!

Who cares about the score anyway! Those are all awesome bucks that anyone would be proud to display in their house or trophy rooms. I grew up not too far from where most of those bucks were shot, and Eastern CO has some amazing deer if you know where to look and obviously Aaron does.

Craig Nolandamn those are all great bucks, nice work

I just returned from Alberta, took a 180" + whitetail that just kept getting bigger the more we looked at him ...

My guess if I'm correct on the area that Aaron is hunting winter wheat and bottom land in the winter and spring. Milo, corn and sorghum fields in the summer and fall, maybe with some alfalfa fields in some areas they can work on all year for food. Plus there is a lot of good cover in that area with old CRP lands.
They sure as hell get a lot more chances for protien than the mountain mulies of Colorado. So there is always a good chance they will grow big antlers. Plus if you have ever ate a field fed deer you would have a hard time hunting anything else, seriously it is right up there with choice beef IMO.

SWPAhunterAaron,
Congratulations are in order for a job well done.
I hunted eastern Montana this year and no one in camp even came close to what you did. In fact, this was my third trip to eastern Montana. I've early season and the rut but never did we see deer like these.
Thsnks for sharing. Beautiful animals.

22WRFwere these bucks taken on public land or has the outfitter leased all of the land that these bucks were taken on?

Eastern Colorado has very little public ground. These bucks were killed via spot and stalk on private ground with no feeders and low fences. What makes you ask?

I have guided some for this outfit but was not with any of the hunters that harvested these deer. This year my guiding has been reduced dramatically due to other obligations
My families ground on the plains is not in the areas they currently hunt
