My father has a Kleingunther(sp?)7mm Mag made in Seguin Tx. Has anybody heard anything about these rifles?

Or better known as KDF Rifles. Makers of the KDF Muzzlebreaks.

I have a friend who has a few. They are supposedly very accurate rifles. I am under the impression that they will be similar in quality to any of the custom made guns.

Thank you very much. I am trying to decide whether I should buy it from him or not.

I have a .22 bolt action Kleingunther custom with english walnut stock and engraved french gray action. When I checked with the company they said that the serial number was not in their records. The rifle also had a thin weatherby pad on it which I asked them about. They told me that Mr. Kleingunther worked for weatherby at one time and that it was more than likely his personal rifle. They are very nice rifles.

Some of the Kleingunther rifles were made by Voere, an Austrian company.

Whatever happened with your 6mm dies?

George, it was just my stupidity with the 6mm Dies. I wasn't pushing the press far enought down. I guess I was afraid to push it all the way down because it was so tight. It was a rookie mistake I guess. The first batch shot ok even though I didn't resize all the way to the base of the casing. Now, all my reloads seat great and I can't believe I couldn't figure it out.

Look it over and price other custom made guns. If it is in good shape, buy it.

You can never have too many guns.

I have a Voere in 6,5x55. It's a good rifle with very good, IMHO, accuracy for a regular hunting rifle. I can shoot .5-.8 inch 3-shot groups with my regular hunting ammo (Norma)if I'm doing my part correctly.

They marketed a Kleingunther K-14 and K-15. I think both were called "Instafire" because of a supposedly quick lock time. I think both were built on Voere actions. Although very, very nice rifles of high quality, the marketing with the term "instafire" sounded squirrly to a lot of would-be buyers of a quality rifle. Were it not for trailer-park marketing to cul-de-sac buyers, I believe many more of them would have been sold to buyers of Sakos, Brownings, and Weatherby's. They have a good reputation among their owners. If the price is right, buy.
