ghostbirdTennessee Buck (2nd buck added)
After guiding my daughter to her first deer, a nice 8 point buck here in Alabama (see separate post "My Daughter's First Deer), I have been hunting in Tennessee. We are seeing a lot of deer and I have passed up several smaller bucks. Finally, I had this large bodied buck slip past my stand in some dense cedars. The rack is not especially large, but when I got a good look at his body I knew I should shoot this deer. He went about 20 yards after I hit him with the .243 at 40 yards.
Below is a photo of my second Tenn buck this year taken last Saturday.

bwanamrmSometimes it is not about antlers but filling the freezer with venison! Nice buck.

ghostbirdTennessee has a lot of deer as evidenced by the liberal season and bag limit... bow season opens Sept. 23 and gun season runs until Jan. 6, limit is 3 bucks a year (no more than one a day) and 3 does a day (no yearly limit).
There are some big bucks killed each year... just not by me.
