<razorback>270 wsm
I saw a couple of 270 wsm at my local gun store. I just bought a 264 winchester magnum and kinda wish I would have waited and got one of these brownings or winchesters. they have the synthetics and the wood. do you think it is an adequate elk rifle. with the failsafes they offer through factory ammo. this place takes trades, but I would have to throw in an extra hundred.

<Wapi-T>Boy those are some controversial questions you ask. It's as adequate for elk as the .264 Mag is. I think a 140 grain failsafe at 3200 FPS will do a hell of a job on anything it hits. I would wait another year, because there is a chance you could get the best of both worlds here- there could be a .264 (6.5) WSM when the next cartridges in the lineup are introduced.
By the way, have you already shot your .264? How did it shoot? If its a shooter, don't even think about trading it.
Done ranting.

<razorback>your probaly right about waiting, since my 264 shoots 3/4 inch groups, but I am sure that the 270wsm will to. I didn't think I liked the short maggies until I held that browning in my hand and started drooling.

p dog shooterThe more money I make there are less and less calibers and guns that I don't like.
