Ive never tried these rounds but have heard good things about the bullet. Midway has them on sale for 22.00 a box which is almost half off the original price. I figure the 150gr would be perfect for whitetail.Any opinions?

For that price, they are worth a try. If they are accurate in your rifle, go for it. The 150s are great for whitetail.

Seems to me that maybe the TBBC is too heavy of a constructed bullet for a whitetail. But that is a good deal. When I think of a whitetail bullet I think of a fast expanding bullet like a Ballistic Tip.

If I was on the lookout for more bullets for .30 cal I would probably buy some though. I just think that the TBBC should have been in 180gr as they are better suited for bears and elk, etc.

Is this a box of 20 or 50? For fifty this is a good buy.

I can only find the WW powerpoints for that price. Can you post a link?

I thought we were talking about just the bullet for reloading as well.

I bet they'd work fine on whitetails. The 150 accubonds do great from the 300WM and the TBBC should hold alittle better than the ABs.

It would probably be a gamble on accuracy. I tried the Federal Premium TBBC factory loads in a Model 70 300WM a few months back and got huge patterns .

I shot some 180's in my 300 mag for elk...worked perfect...came home and shot the rest at deer and Not Good at all! So well constructed that they icepicked straight through the deer...just like a Barnes X!!! Everyone died, as the shots were well placed, but we got in some dang good blood trailing practice. I imagine the 150's might be better, but the 180's were a no-go on deer.

Reyn...those tbbc bullets are an excellent bullet for big game. I would be more apt to purchasing the 165 or 180 grain to use out of your 300 manum. They just seem to do a lot better with those heavier bullets.

The tbbc bullet is a lot like the Nosler partitions really. They do have a solid copper shank, so as to keep penetrating on through the animals vitals and exist. I use the 180 grain bullets in my 300 Win mag with no problems on deer or larger game.

Point 1: it is a good buy.

Point 2: even if they group like crap, you'd still probably be ok even shooting to 200 yards.

Point 3: very tough, very reliable bullet, much like a partition or TSX (most would say, too good for a whitetail)

Point 4: aim for shoulder bone and watch what happens. May turn out to be your favorite deer buster. I think it is an excellent choice for deer AT THAT PRICE so long as you break down the framework when the bullet hits.

Point 5: word of caution, my neighbor shot this exact same bullet (but from his 300 weatherby) at a deer in KY at 80 yards. Allegedly, it was a good hit, but he didn't find the deer. I asked where he aimed, "behind the shoulder, where I always aim.....lots of blood, but no deer."

Just remember, you can always have TOO much of a good thing. In this case, it is my opinion, that if he put that bullet in the high shoulder at that distance, the deer would have collapsed.

I am still thinking that the TBBC is too heavily constructed for a little whitetail. It may pencil through and then you will have a tracking job on your hands. Unless you are wanting to shoot through the shoulders or spine.

Thanks for all the advice. Ive only shot 1 whitetail with a 300 and it was at 40yds with a 150gr Core-lokt. Shot behind the shoulder. He didnt go 30yds. I just figured at this price id give it a try.

At that distance, I strongly recommend you aim for bone. Otherwise, the bullet's chances of penciling through are even greater.
