I get about 3200 fps with 46 grains of VV N560 in my Savage 110 with a 20" barrel.

I usually see higher than "book" velocities in this gun though, probably due to slower than normal twist rate (1-11)

I have a Remington Model 700 with the barrel shortened to 20.25" and stock cut down for my son (who is now 6'2" and 250 lbs, my how time flies). Anyway, I used to use the old 85 grain Nosler Solid Base bullet loaded to 3200 FPS (chronographed), so I guess I'm pretty much in line with Yorick. I assumed the shorter barrel would work better with a medium-quick powder (although I'm not sure now that that is true), so I used IMR 4064, but can't remember the charge.
