<GSXR7/11>Place to go shooting near KC
Anyone know of a good place near Kansas City (within 150 miles) where a guy can shoot a high power rifle? At least 100 yards, but preferably 200, 300 or more.
Would like to get some practice in before hunting season.... and just do some shooting in general

ReedThere are probably areas through the Missouri Dept. of Conservation (
http://www.conservation.state.mo.us/) but I've never done any shooting in that area. There is Rocky Forks north of Columbia and the Reed area in MO probably has some sort of range.
Otherwise, closer to St. Louis you have the SL benchrest club but it has an annual fee and probably isn't what you're looking for as they require a safety walk through, etc. It is north or Wright City which would be close to 200 miles from KC. They do have a range with benches set up for 50-600 yards.

Bill MGSXR7/11,
Here's one in Kansas:
MILL CREEK RIFLE CLUB:
Contact: Larry Kuse, 8112 W 89th St., Overland Park, KS 66212, (913) 649-7344
Email: lrkuse@juno.com
Hunter Contact: Ron Shultz, 33106 W 271st St., Paola, KS 66071, (913) 294-2229
Information is from NBRSA website. Larry Kuse runs the Varmint class Benchrest matches there, Ron runs the Hunter class BR matches, but they might be able to help with membership, directions, etc.
There's also one in Higginsville, MO - Lafayette Gun Club. John Wade 660-584-7119 runs the IHMSA matches and should have club info. From ihmsa.org website.
There's a club in Columbia, MO, think it's called Green valley, but I don't have info for that one.
And, as Reed suggested, you're welcome to shoot with us at St. Louis BRRC!
Looks like you guys used to have a nice MDC range near KC until somebody burned it down.
Regards, Bill

SeanI've been here a few times. It is a standard MDC manned range.
