Re: Chuck Adams - Another World record?? - C'Mon!
I personally know outfitters and guides who have taken Chuck Adams afield and all have good things to say about him. I've met and talked with him and feel the same. He killed a whopper non-typical Mule Deer in Southern Alberta last fall and I can tell you there was no high fence or unethical behaviour involved. He was however in a prime spot (in North America) to kill a big deer. I know because I have lived, hunted and ridden (for a living) the ranch he killed it on. It isn't easy bow hunting eigther.

I know absolutely nothing about the elk you are talking about, but the same remarks could be said about that Mule Deer and they simply wouldn't be true. Be careful about such blatant accusations.

I just read the cover article of NAHC magazine's rendition of how Chuck Adams just arrowed ANOTHER "world record" free ranging bull elk in Montana!!!

Am I the only one who has problems with this??? A "world record" in 2001 and then breaks it in 2003??? With elk ranching becoming much more popular in the last few years it sure sounds questionable to me.

Just my $ .02 adjusted for inflation.

I think you're right on with where you're taking this jds. No one, I don't care how good a hunter, kills that many BIG critters ALL the time unless something is fishy. When ever big $$ and endorsements are involved, I am more than confident that wildlife laws are bent and broke, as well as a total disregard with ethics from these so called "pro" hunters.
Killing a free ranging WORLD record is like winning the lottery. Sure it can happen, but there just isn't many winning tickets out there. To win twice....
Unfortunatly, it isn't about the hunt any more...it is a big dick contest to see who kills the biggest critter...no matter the cost or what it takes (illegal).

Your chances are certainly improved when cost is no object to hunting week after week in the ultimate prime spots. I have no reason to doubt his ethics but I think this sort of CRAP is bad for hunting over all. On the other hand I wish I had the capital to hunt week after week and pay the fees this guy must fork over to theese ranches for those "free ranging animals" .
