Bow season in a month and a half and it is 976 degrees here in south Georgia. This ain't fun. Spent last week as guests of the ranch where we elk hunt in New Mexico...morning temps about 39-41. This ain't fair.

Yea, but that's nothing -- 976 has been our morning LOW for the past 2 days here in south central Texas! Smiler

I have some hunting-related work to do that requires quite a bit of exertion, but I have to quit around 7:30 in the morning. It's just miserable after that.

It's that hot PLUS rain daily here in Vermont. I've just started scouting for stand locations, it could be best described as a sticky situation.

ditto that Bobby,
Its so hot around here that I saw a jack rabbit carrying a canteen the other day. By 8 AM I'm sweating like a politician telling the truth!

It"s ben unusually hot here in the UK this year.
I put up a high seat in the middle of July, and got sunburnt(we"re not used to it), devoured by flies, and finally stung when i stood in 2 wasp"s nests when clearing rides around the seat.
Roll on the cold, crisp mornings when you can get up at 6.30 am and still be in place before daylight!
good shooting

I forgot to factor in the heat index when I said it was 976 degrees.

We traveled from Southwest Georgia to Al, MS, LA, TX then on to NM. On the way back we visited with a buddy in Kansas....it was so hot there it would take your breath away. This summer is a hot one. I hope we don't have one of those falls where you are dying of the heat clean up through Christmas.

I used to take off work on the 1st september every year for the start of duck season. The last few years it has"nt been worth it as it"s been dead calm and sunny. You see more flies and bugs than ducks.
We"re having thunderstorms here(Northern Ireland) right now, so I"m hoping they pass over before Tuesday which is the 1st day of deer(bucks/stags only) season.
