dSmith.45Re: Where do you fit on this scale?
I'd rate myself an 8 as well. I do like hunting but I like fussing over rifles & pistols more.
Put it this way: If hunting was outlawed tomarrow I'd still own pistols and high power rifles. If guns were outlawed tomarrow I'd probably give up hunting instead of using a bow or some other method.

Nebraska 2.5
I like guns/shooting but my absolute favorite hunting is with a bow.
Call me a 10, but I still enjoy hunting/shooting.

Ray, Alaska10 for me, I guess. I only shoot at the range to test my hunting loads and the rifle/scope combination. After that, the main purpose of my gun is to kill the game I hunt as efficiently as possible. I only use one rifle for all my hunting. I consume the game I kill, except for fur bearers'.

steve yI'm a 1 or a 10 depending on whether I'm going to the range or the woods that day. Guess I've multiple personalities.
My stainless hunting guns are strictly utilitarian as they are all covered with spray paint or bake-on epoxy. When I'm out with them I'm a 1.
When I take the prissy girls to the range I'm a 10.

TomI guess I would be about a 4 I REALLY LOVE to hunt, and just love to tinker and target shoot a tin bit less.

Ol BullWell i love the hunting and the guns so i'm a 5

04 January 2004, 19:23
HolmesI would be a 7.

Mike375I am a 10 plus.
If I was going out to shoot roos and pigs next week and I was then told I had to take some rifle/calibre in which I had no interest then I would probably cancel the trip.

RogerKI'm a hard 5.
I do the rifle thing so I can hunt, and the hunt thing so I can do the rifle thing. Sort of like the formula, H2O. Take one element away and you no longer have what you started with.

TERRY8mmGREAT QUESTION!!!!!!!!
I am the entire scale, with the main thrust being a #1.
Every minute of gun time is for the goal of 1 shot kills on meat.
I am obsessive compulsive about each rifle, I'll drop whatever I'm doing to work on an idea for better function or accuracy.
Wifey loves it, keeps me outa' da bars!!!!

VoldamortI have a few guns that get used just for hunting. Then there are the rifles that get used just for long range compitition. There are also a few rifles that were built just cause I wanted one. Handguns for plinking and the other thing handguns are used for. Does that make me a 10?

NickuduSorry Mike ... as the wife will attest to, I haven't fit on any type of scale, in quite some time now.

07 January 2004, 04:16
R-WESTAt one time I was probably a 1 or 2. I've even used (gag!!) factory ammo a few times (I'm SO ashamed

). Over time I've evolved into probably an 8 or 9. Often, I'll hunt in the woods near my house, even though there aren't as many deer there as other places, just so I can stop in from time to time to change rifles.
