Deer commits suicide in Georgia
So I'm having supper last night and the phone rings. It's my neighbor behind my house in Shakerag, GA telling me that when he was coming out of his driveway, a deer ran out of my yard, got blinded by his headlights and ran into a tree and broke its neck! He didn't want it and knew I was a hunter and might could use it.

Sure enough, when I got over there, there was a little doe lying dead in his yard -- couldn't have weighed more than 50 lbs on the hoof. I loaded it up, and with the help of my son's best friend, we had it butchered and in the spare fridge in less than an hour.

Seriously, I bet you don't hear of that happening every day!

That's going to be some tender meat!!

I watched a spike being chased by dogs jump off of a VERY STEEP ridge in Mississippi several years back and broke his back.

I would have contacted the game warden before moving the deer. Just to make everything on the up and up.

No problem there. A City of Johns Creek Police Officer was informed and was pleased that it (deer disposal) didn't become his problem.
