HenryC470Swiss army rangefinder
Swiss made, 11.25x magnification, 20,000 meter maximum range, weatherproof, no batteries. I was in love. $499. I could deal with that.
http://www.deutscheoptik.com/product.php3?cat=range&id=46313 pounds. 3 feet long.
I still want one. I've seen how Walter "holsters" his Blaser, and that is something to think about. Will my elk hunting guide carry this thing for me?
This company does have some other interesting militar surplus optics stuff.

N E 450 No2HenryC470 I bought a coincidental [sp?] range finder from them a few years before the laser rangefinders were afordable. Mine is a Ziess made for the Dutch Artillery, I think. If you need ranges more than 1000 yards they are excellent. I think mine goes to 20,000 yards. But for hunting, get one of the laser range finders, they are a lot more compact.

P.S. those Swiss units sold for over $1000.00 a few years ago. They are a real precision instrument, they are a STEAL at $500.00.
