Wildcat CrazyRe: Feral water buffalo: 'Hard' target?
The picture that GeorgeS posted is one of the breeds of the River type of water buffalo(Bubalus bubalus)of which there are 18 different breeds. The horns on the River breeds
curl up.
The water buffalo in Australia are of the Swamp type of
water buffalo(Bubalus carabanensis)of which there is only one breed.
One Type has 48 chromosomes while the other Type has 50.
They can and do crossbreed and produce fertile offspring.
Both Types were introduced into South America so you may find a varity of horn types in South America.

Hawkeye47Hi GeorgeS,
I hunted Buff in Argentina in Sept of 02 and took an 1800 pound male with my 338 Win Mag. I made a really good hit on him the first time but put two more in him to make sure. I used the 230 grain Failsafe and had complete penetration on all three shots. Great animal and an exciting hunt.
