The Accurate Reloading Forums
This Forum is Going Downhill
This Forum is Going Downhill
Yep, this Big Game Hunting Forum is going downhill because of the extreme increase of unethical, uneducated, know-it-all snobs. The profanity laced posts, the name calling, the "I am always right and everyone else is wrong" attitude, the prejudices shown towards others, etc.. is ridiculous.
Seems like we have a lot of small men who don't have the balls to say something in "real" life, just over the net where they hide behind their keyboards and monitors. If they used these poor forms of communication in real life there would be broken bones in many cases. (Lawsuits would follow because many claim to be smart, rich lawyers)
I have only seen one other site turn as poorly as AR and that was Huntinfo, which is now a skeleton. I know quiet a few people who don't visit here anymore because of the numerous tastless posts.
I have always liked AR and Saeed, but this particular forum stinks.
[ 07-03-2003, 01:23: Message edited by: MGC ]You want a box of fuckin' tissue. Huntinfo was never worth a shit,so how could it have went down hill?

DigitalDan"...balls"? The Queen said, "If I had them I'd be King." I disagree(not with the Queen) and my email is in my profile. There are loads of idiots in the world. You think this place should be immune?

CanuckIts pretty easy to guess which threads will have the type of content to which you are referring.
I have learned to save myself stress, and avoid those threads. There are a lot of good, informative threads on this forum that you can spend your time on.
Cheers,
Canuck

I am with Canuck. I rarely notice ridiculous threads because I do not waste my time reading them.
I prefer the "African" hunting forum, but do visit here occasionally. There are some good people here.

hvyw8tHere is a thought, leave. I happen to enjoy this forum and have found loads of incredible information that the booger eaters at the local gunshop could never hold a candle to. So if you dont like it, dont look. Simple.

p dog shooter46 posts wow and he already knows that forum is going down hill. Thats a good one looks like another troll is with us.
Ah, it is great to be proven right. Look at some of those who posted an intelligent response and the ones who did not. I don't mind differing opinions, but they should be expressed in a somewhat civil manner.
And no I'm not a troll, just a visitor/member to this site for 3+ years. Like I said, this forum seems much more negative than the other forums on this site.

dwhunterMGC,
I am going to have to agree with everyone else on this issue. I spend most of my time on the Africa forum but I come here very often and have never had a problem. I know I can always count on feedback or answers to questions or like minded people to just BS with.

Mike375I continue to be amazed why some people have difficulty with the postings of others.
What is common to forums, including this one is that so called controversial threads are often kept going by those who in fact complain about them the most.
One also needs to keep in mind that such threads often run for far more postings than other threads and therefore participation must have been higher

If you look at the top you can see that there is a hell of alot of registered members and you are going to have conflicts with that amount of personalities. Most of the negetive conflicts go on in the political topic and that's a good place for it. There really isnt too much that gets out of hand else where. Most people debate in a mature respective manner and it would be pretty damn boring if everybody agreed with one another.
I think the reason we get some nastyness on this forum is because of it's success. The few times I've checked out sites like 24Hourcampfire late at night I laugh because it says "14 members logged on, 4 guests". I come back to this forum and it's hundreds of members logged on.
I personaly like this forum alot.

smallfryI am not sure why MGC just doesnt leave and goto a forum where people are suppressed from speaking thier mind. There are plenty of forums like that. Why worry about the small amount of people on this forum who make fools of themselves by spout'n off swear words?
I think what I am not "seeing" but actualy exists... is that MGC is some sort of Messiah that is here to save us all!
03 July 2003, 19:45
GatehouseThere are somethign like 8000 members of AR...
It's the place to come for a varied opinon!
There's some 'know it alls' there are some trolls, and there are some memebers that 95% of their posts are some negative comment of some sort..
But, like has been said- If you don't like the thread, don't respond.
Huntinfo??? Wow..what a blast from the past!

As you know the rest of them will support G Bush banning guns or whatever

One of my favourite threads was where the boys jumped into supporting R Reagan's decision to support the Brady Bill. Something about his friend had been shot etc. I think I have heard that story from some of the anti gunners.
I phoned the White House today but they told me George was out looking for Osama, Saddam and WMD

Apparently he has gone down to the Democrat campaign office to see if they are all there.

How can you compare intelligence with someone's choice to cuss? I don't care much for it either, but I've never figured it had much to do with one's witts. Its just colorful prose.;-) ~~~Suluuq

The political forum is like a cyber cocktail of the wars thru history, there are not laws and you better get the helmet on dig you own trench

I think the political forum is a plot by Saeed to cause even more coflicts in the World
Perhaps this forum is nuts, but I like it

What? Where? Who? What'd I miss. Was it any good?
The next "survivor" and "big brother" episodes will be back on soon, and these people will go away again.
Just don't open anything that goes over 20 posts. But you never get to see all the "who did what to whom stuff". JMO, Dutch.

rukidnmerukidnme,
I visit quite a few of these boards and these forums at Accurate Reloading are currently the most active and the posters the most reasonable.
Most of the posters even argue in a civil tone.
You should try Monster Muleys if you want to see some rude uncivil people and a bunch of BS!

You guys make some good points. Good to be reminded of the civilized banter that AR has usually had.
I Guess we all have bad hair days. Thanks.

RogerKIt's been a long believed that I can learn from expert and idiot alike; the expert can teach me what to do, and the idiot what not to do. When the kids that have graced my life have pointyed out an idiot, I've always told them that an idiot of a good example of a bad example. Watch the idiot, listen to the idiot, and learn from them. Then never, ever do what they do. Things aren't any different here on this form. Overall I find it very useful.

kudu56Still the best all around site on the web for gun addicts!
Forgive me father for I have sinned, Yes I spent another 5 hours on Accurate Reloading site!
I hunt there fore I am!
Hi, My name is Randy, and I have a web site problem! I am a member of ARA. Accurate Reloading Anonymous!
You can't drag me out of here with a team of wild horses being chased by a pack of blood thirsty wolves!
[ 07-06-2003, 17:35: Message edited by: kudu56 ]HI,
I have not posted anything in a very long time, I am trying to keep my mouth closed and listen more. This site is without question the best for hunting, but I will say some people do hind behind there computers and say things, well that are not to kind. I think if some of these people were toe to toe they would not be so bold, this however has nothing to do with this forum, as it is clearly the best hunting forum out there. Kev

475GuyI have observed that there is quite a bit of rancor in the posts when contradictions of opinion are expressed. When posting, it is only an one's opinion or the way you see things and the name calling isn't necessary. But in the case of the agent provacateur posting of African Big 5 or 6 hunting not being very dangerous, we might make an exception.
