p dog shooterSaw another wolf tonight
I was traveling towards home on a town road. when right at the 2 mile mark from the house.
I know it is 2 miles as it is one of my running routes.
There it stood about 15 feet off the pavement. A differant wolf then I saw a couple of months ago a mile from the house. This one was tan in color the other one was black.
This one wasn't 100 yards from, a 10 home development. The lieing antis don't have a clue when they say need willderness to live in.
Thats makes the 4th differant wolf I have seen in the last few months.
Boy do we need a season on them.

sdirksI am glad we have a sustainable population of wolves...BUT... the notion of letting them reproduce and spread without any management whatsoever is nuts. Between the wolves and the dense bear population in northern Wisconsin, not only has our deer herd taken a hit but we are having a hell of a time trying to re-establish a sustainable population of elk. And they are spreading beyond northern Wisconsin.
We see them down here (south of Madison) occasionally. Several years ago one of our wardens told me that a wolf collared in northern Wisconsin had been killed on a highway near St Louis. Wolves, like all predators, can only stand a certain population density before they start to disperse. There are already conflicts between wolves and domesticated animals in the north. Imagine the problems if they spread into Dane and Milwaukee counties. I am afraid that what it will take to finally get approval for wolf management is for some little kid to get attacked. Let's hope not!

WI HunterI agree, but fear that it WILL take the death of a child before the people realize how big of a problem they are becoming.
I was up in Hayward this summer musky fishing, beautiful area!
