Hawk bullets in 7mm
Hi,

Is there anybody who has use the Hawk bullets in 7x64 or .280Rem?

I will try that bullets in my .280 for big game. Most I use 175grs or will 160grs do fine?

The .280 should be able to push the 175gr. fast enough to perform well, but you will get best performance with the 160's in my opinion. Good trajectory and energy. 175gr. works best in a magnum case. Hawk bullets perform well. I have seen a whitetail hit with one from a 7x57 (160gr.) at 140 yards, it was a good shot and the bullet worked well.

I have some samples from them and quite frankly allthough I have never fired them I cannot see the point.

They are twice the price of a Hornady 154gr or 175gr RN, I really doubt they will be better and they are likely to cause a lot more copper fouling.

The weights on the 175gr seemed erratic.

I use the 154gr Hornady RN in my 7x57 and really really like it.
