BuffHunter63Attempted Deer Poaching Colorado
In the local Denver news, it has been showing a doe mule deer, that had been shot in a sub-division in the foothills.
She has two crossbow bolts in her.
One looks like a perfect lung shot placement, but the deer shows little or no life threatening symptoms.
Apparently, it either did not have cutting blades (i.e. round target bolt), or it completely missed anything important.
The other bolt is sticking squarely in the deer's chest, about midway between the brisket and the base of the neck (head on shot).
Parks and Wildlife had the deer put down.
What a total a-hole for shooting semi-tame deer.
I think this is one reason, we are not allowed to use silencers on rifles. Some idiot would wind up shooting a neighborhood pet.

LHeym500Could they not have treated her instead of putting her down?
She was apparently making a go of it.

BuffHunter63The news report stated CPW decided the injuries were too severe for treatment.
My guess is they just didn’t want to spend the time and money.

BuffHunter63Our deer are road savvy. The elk not so much.
Just realized I should have started this in the poaching forum. My bad.

Semi-tame deer eat the same as not semi-tame ones some times the better. A lot of suburbs have more deer then they know what to do with.
Shame on them for wounding her.
Doesn't sound like hard core poachers more like some ass hole just shooting something.
