Grouse Poached!
Don't laugh, those little guys are pretty valuable. My wife and I found a whole pile of guts and heads up rd 580 behind Purgatory on saturday. I guess they couldn't wait 3 more weeks........wapiti7

Real hunters could wait three more weeks, the folks responsible for poaching the grouse are just plain scumbags.

Sad thing is, that is a regular Joe would see those grouse, instead of thinking that some shitbag was responsible, he would say "some hunter" did that.

Unfortunately I think that law abiding hunters get tagged with all sorts of bullshit stereotypes, thanks to a few dirtbags.

I'm pretty sure. We passed some guys in a camp about 2 miles before the scene, and on the way out they were gone. The birds still had bright red blood on them and we were in an area that was pretty remote. So go figure........wapiti7

We have guys in Az that raise them for training their bird dogs. They will plant the birds to train the dogs to point and shoot the birds to trian the dogs to retrieve. Sometimes they clean the birds to eat them and sometimes they just dump the whole pile of birds for the coyotes.

I heard of one couple that raise a couple thousand of birds each year for dog and shooting practice.

If your hunting dog is fat, then you aren't getting enough exercise. Smiler

Chukars,quail?? yes..
Blue grouse?? Not a chance. I've never heard of any one raising grouse for put and take shooting and dog training..
