DIY AZ bear hunt
Looking to do a DIY bear hunt in AZ have 3 bonus points. Any suggestions on a limited quota area ?

Check with the game departments at the White Mountain Apache Tribe in Whiteriver and the San Carlos Apache Tribe in San Carlos.

The San Carlos reservation may be your best bet. Its best bear area is more suitable for glassing and stalking bears.

I don't know about the reservations, but baiting bears (or any big game) is illegal across the rest of the state.

Neither baiting nor dogs were allowed on San Carlos when I hunted there in 2008.
