Best Mule Deer & Antelope State?
Hello planing on going on my first out of state DIY hunt next year. And was wondering what is the beast state for Mule Deers and Lope? Also was wondering what the odds of drawing for the state and Public lands like thanks.

I believe strongly, that the flesh of the living animal is something very sacred. If you cannot bear freezing int he mud and wind of winter whilst you find them, if you cannot kill them yourself....and if you cannot stomach the stench and feel of guts and blood......
You have not the right to eat meat.

AIU has it right if you want to do both at the same time. I believe Montana also has some combo hunt opportunities available, but I hear more DIY success stories coming from WY. Just heresay, as I have no experience with either (yet).

For abundance of game and access to plenty of land - Wyoming

For warm weather and very big antelope and very few mule deer - New Mexico (Vermejo Park if you have a lot of money)

For a lot of fun and very nice people - Montana

For a ranch hunt - N. Dakota or Texas

I have not hunted much in Colorado or Arizona

Jason,

Visit this website for WY, G&F http://gf.state.wy.us/ It has a lot of info. about the draw etc. I also suggest you call them. I've found the people in the Cheyenne office to be very helpful. I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.
