No. 2, the dog is an Anatolian Shepherd, from the Anatolian High Plains area of Turkey. Looks like a Female. We have 4 adults and 2 pups (left from a litter of 5) with us now. (Sold 3 pups, and the last male pup is spoken for). Our biggest male is 160 pounds, the female about 120. I will dig up some diskettes and post a photo. Neat dogs, they are somewhat Feral in nature (They exhibit many wolf pack characteristics), but are an outstanding livestock and property guardian.

Gee, never know what will show up in photos on this Forum!

John,
Molosser dogs is what the photo was used for. I found it on a dog website.

Sure looks like an Anatolian female. But, close areas, similar breeds perhaps. Anatolians have been in existence for over 2000 years, so the dog journals say. Hannibal used them as attack dogs to pull mounted warriors off the back of horses.

The males we have can leap a 5 foot fence, from a flat foot standing position, all 4 feet on the ground, no running start. We have 6 foot perimeter fence, sort of keeps them in. Hot wires on top in the critical areas.

So, imagine, here you are all armored up, swinging that favorite broadsword, on the back of a big horse, and 160 pounds of teeth and dog grabs hold. Two of them, one from each side.
