OK, lets be fair here. If we're gonna' screw Chrysler (I guess one aw shit erases 10 million atta' boys!) then we aught to hold those auto makers feet to the fire who take billions of dollars out of this country but decided that only condolences or not even that was appropriate after the terrorist attack on 911. Guess my new SUV won't be made across the pacific, or in the US of A with my dollars going back there.
Give it a rest.
Don't know how you made that quantum leap from 911 to your references (thought we were talking about auto mfgrs. here. The twist in the argument sounds a little Clintonesque.)- but I do know that the US is putting a hell'uve lot more into most of those countries in terms of foreign aid - runs into the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS - than our corporations gave to the cause after 911, but then that isn't the issue here.
Phew, wore me out. Think I will rest now, maybe take a snooze.
Have a good day...Zzzzzz
I still don't agree with Chrysler making a marketing campaign on the backs of hunters. I realize it was done 'tongue in cheek' but they picked the wrong cheeks! It is hard enough to enjoy this sport already with all the anti's out there....I don't need to see ads on TV poking fun at it. But don't worry Glenn, I would never have purchased a damn Jeep anyway. Nothing has changed.
Just lined up a great smoke-pipe white tail hunt in Oklahoma come Oct. That, and other planned fall related stuff will relieve some of the cabin fever frustrations of the winter months.
Killed a bunny yesterday - that helped! A few sips of Famous Grouse, a viewing of Ruark's "On Safari," and I'll mellow out into a pretty neat evening. And, there's a Jeep in my future.
Now, think positive...glenn
By the way, I read on another board that Toyota matched their employees contributions of $900,000 and donated then doubled it for a $1.8 Million to the 911 Relief fund.

They donated $1 million and 10 X5 SAVs to the American Red Cross (general fund), and donated 100 motorcycles to NYPD.
But it is all business and politics with these car companies. The foreign firms do a tremendous anount of sales to Muslim countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia. To overtly donate money in support of the United States would offend the number of radical Muslims that hate the USA and support those that would attack us.
