A good question:

I'm looking forward to hunting season this fall, but I have a question. If I shoot a buck, but I only have a doe tag,
can I claim that the buck wasn't really a buck?

I mean … maybe he'd always wanted to be a doe, but with no choice of his own he was born with the physical
attributes of a male. And yet, on the inside he'd always known he was truly a female.

I'm just wondering if the game warden will buy it, because society and the Supreme Court do.

I would guess a citation would be issued and guns seized and so on...but upon appeal in the court system. Ahhh, not only would it be over-turned, but then you would be arrested and charged with a hate crime, probably never see the outside of a cage again. I would avoid that defense if I were you, just sayin.

Pancho, you just might get away with it.... but only if your wearing a short skirt or maybe a pair of yoga pants and a tight top... Appropriate make-up too, of course.
