Then I'm back from my first trip, we had to go home one day earlier because the weather was not good for the meat, and it was many fly around our meat.

This first hunting trip we got 4 moose, so then its 6 moose left to shoot for us.

Now we was cold, so then its good to made coffee on open fire








This year we have buy a new ironhorse



We look at the map and made plans for todays hunt

Secound day we got 3 moose, here is one of them



This is moose number 2 taken this day



This one was shot so far away so it was not possible to take our ironhorse to this moose.
So we have to carry him on our back for a very long distance.



Its me on way back to cabin with a shoulder on my shoulder



When we was back, we was very tired



Next day we got a nice 7 pointer

We use our ironhorse to winch the moose



Jaw have to be clean and send to our authority so they can check age to the moose.

Our saw is a cordless one.
A normal Norwegian moose (male) use to be 250-300 kg undressed.
Female is about 200 kg, 1.5 year old moose use to be 120-140 kg and calf is about 60-70 kg.

Hey that looked like a great time, especially since you had so many hands to help with the heavy work. Your iron horse is quite interesting.

Thanks for the pictures you have a beautiful country. I have also used a saw-zall to butcher deer, people thought i was crazy, yours looks like a Dewalt. I bet that those moose are very tasty, especially the smaller ones, good job.

I have a question though. In the second picture down...

Why are you guys required to give a urine sample in moose camp?

"Mange takk" for the fine pictures. Looks like fun. I sent the thread to my Norsk-Alaskan co-worker who is heading off moose hunting near Petersburg, Alaska. Petersburg is Alaska's "Little Norway."

I had a chance to drive thru southern Sweden (Smaaland) during the moose hunting season. We saw several animals - both alive and hanging.

Shania Twain (fellow wearing a T-shirt) is definately a "ne takk!!!"

Gotta ask about calibers you used. 6.5x55, .308 Win, 308 Norma, 358 Norma, etc.?

Most used caliber in our group are 30-06 and 308, but I use my new 264 winmag this year.
I haven't shoot any moose yet with my 264wm, but I hope to get a chance next weekend.

Great pictures and congratulations on a successful hunt. The terrain and vegetation looks very similar to ours in Alaska. The ironhorse looks like a very interesting machine. Moose hunting is great fun until you get one on the ground, then it is all work, appears that your group has a great system to make it as easy as possible.
