Saw an article that a collared wolf from Yellowstone had made is all the way down to Baggs, Wyoming. That's just across the border from one of the biggest elk heards in Colorado, the heard above Craig. Article said it was a loner, non-breeding male.

My friends in the hunting business in Craig are worried.

As long as 6 years ago Wolves have been sighted (singly) by reputable sources on Grand Mesa, Colorado. They are here although they may just be single males looking around but it is only a matter of time until they start showing up in packs.

No, elkfitter, I don't. In fact, it was just a short news blurb in one of my hunting magazines, in the "Local Roundup" section. I just can't remember which one. But as soon as I saw the name "Baggs", It had my interest.

I did see that article that DOW posted in 2004. I was asking if GAHUNTER had any new info as I have a ranch just 25 miles south of Baggs and sure don't need any wolves.

I find it ironic that the people on the front range of Colorado can ban certain breeds of domestic dogs in their communities but want to reintroduce wolves in my back yard.

Might have something to do with attacks on people vs. attacks on livestock.

People are more important than livestock.

I would think you would have to be silly to believe that there was only one lone male wandering around. Just because only one was seen doesn't mean there is only one around especially with wolves.
