Rich JakeNosler 45 Caliber Hollowpoints ?
Has any one out there used Nosler 250 Grain Hollow points on game? I have loaded them in the 45 Colt Contender barrel & got better Accuracy than the Hornady XTP's. I'm just a little concerned about the Noslers holding up as well as the Hornady's in that application. These are the standard hollow points not the partitions. I would apprecate any answers you could give me. Please let me know even if it was used in something other than a contender.

<M38>I used a Nosler 250 gr. hollow point sabot over two pyrodex pellets in my Black Diamond muzzeloader last year and shot a 100lb doe through the heart with it, she stumbled about ten yards down a slope and fell in her tracks. It put a big hole in the heart, but did not exit. I will be using it again this year.

Rich JakeThanks for the info. I posted this question in 3 places & this was the only response. I guess that the Nosler hollow points aren't used much by most hunters.

Rich,
I load a Nosler 240gr JHP .44 cal bullet that performs well on game. Pentrates and gives good expansion. I make the assumption that this bullet is the sam your using only 10 grains lighter and .430 cal.

<M38>The downside of a 250gr for muzzelloading is it's odd weight - if you run out of them you can't just run to Wal Mart to get more. This year I bought a bunch of the lower priced SHOTS (I think that's the name)Nosler 250gr bullet for practice and I will save the more expensive partition for hunting.
