Pretty common for cat owners to get this.

I had not heard of venison as a source of toxoplasmosis. Thanks for the warning, Saeed.

Hamburger tends to draw various diseases due to its consistency of being chopped or ground even in the US with all our rules and regulations. in all ground meat. For that reason alone it should be cooked well done. Thats pretty common knowledge, Never I say never eat a hamburger in Dar Es Sallam. Trust me on this!

Reading up on this, it seems as though freezing meat will nullify this, although it stated -20C (-4 F) for 3 days time. That with cooking should do it? Must say I do prefer my venison medium to medium rare though, so I hope the freezing will be sufficient.

Or the large restaurant at one end of the Johannesburg airport. Grabbed a burger there once on my way home from a hunt. Within an hour I was getting very acquainted with the bathroom in the airport. Nothing like a case of the trots while on a 15 hour flight.

We always freeze venison for at least two weeks especially when we want to make medium steaks or so.
