Battle River165" whitetail taken with 6.5-06
I took this buck on the third day of the season here after seeing it twice before. I used a Custom Kimber 6.5-06 purcgased from casull, and originally concieved by forum member RickF. It made a one shot kill 125 Gr Partitions at 3100f/s.I gross scored it at 165 -4 8"circumferences and 24" spread. I suspect it weighted 275-290 lbs.I consider this rifle a perfect unit for hunting in the open country units I hunt in. I have shot .6" 5 shot groups with this loading and now have 2-1 shot kills in its first season here.
Regards
Dave
